We have a WALKER!

Watch out, Jacob is on the move! It has been so neat to see the progression over the past month! Jacob had been pushing his mail cart & lawn mower all over the house, but we noticed he was putting less weight on the handle bar, which was exciting!

On 9/19 (Sunday), he let go and stood solid for 3 full seconds! He was so proud of himself! He has a new game where he will use our legs to push himself into a standing position (while we lay sideways on the ground), then let go to see how long he can balance/stand, then plop down on his butt and giggle. Then he'll sign 'more'.  So sweet! He loves to practice standing! :)

On 9/20 (Monday), Jacob stood for 5 full seconds! And on Tuesday, he took his first steps! We were playing outside in the yard with his mailcart and lawn mower. He was getting frustrated because it was harder to push on the grass than indoors. He started fussing and reached for me. I was a couple steps away, so I put my arms out to him, and he took 2 wobbly steps toward me! I was so excited! I picked him up, and swung him around while praising him. Yay! Jacob's first steps!

On Wednesday Jake took a couple more solid steps inside with his shoes on. My parents stopped over later and were able to watch, so that was neat!

On Friday our Grandma & Grandpa Furrow arrived to stay the weekend with us. We went to Mom & Dad Furrow's for dinner and while we were there, Jacob took 7 solid steps toward his Grandma Furrow (who was holding m&ms & candy corn, haha) It was so great that Jake's Great Grandma & Grandpa Furrow were there to witness such a special moment!

Over the past month Jake will take several steps here and there each day, but he realizes he can get wherever he wants to go quicker by crawling. We encourage him to stand and walk and will walk around holding his hand. He is much more steady on his feet. Dan & I went to Austin this past weekend and when we returned today (10/17 - Sunday) Jake pushed himself onto his feet and started walking around like it was nothing. We were like 'WHAT?! haha He took like 13 solid steps from the front door all the way into the kitchen. Then we were playing in his playroom and he just got up and started walking again! It is very fun and exciting to witness. Here are some pics of him walking to Daddy in the yard! :)
